What is Benchwork?
Benchwork is a visual workflow automation platform built specifically for Shopify merchants. It lets you automate repetitive tasks — like sending cart abandonment emails, tagging customers, adjusting inventory, and more — without writing any code.
Is Benchwork available on the Shopify App Store?
Yes! Benchwork is available on the Shopify App Store. You can install it directly from your Shopify admin, or sign up at benchwork.app/signup for the standalone version.
What's included in the Free plan?
The Free plan includes 1 Shopify store, up to 3 active workflows, all 7 pre-built templates, the analytics dashboard, and barcode label generation. There's no time limit on the free plan.
What happens when I hit the 3-workflow limit on Free?
You can still view and manage existing workflows, but you won't be able to activate new ones until you upgrade to Pro or deactivate an existing workflow.
What Shopify permissions does Benchwork need?
Benchwork requests read/write access to orders, products, customers, inventory, and discounts. It also subscribes to webhook events to trigger workflows. We never store your store data — we only process it transiently during workflow execution.
Is my store data secure?
Yes. Benchwork uses Firebase (Google Cloud) for data storage with AES-256 encryption at rest and TLS in transit. Shopify API tokens are encrypted before storage. We're GDPR compliant and support customer data deletion requests.
What is the Dead Letter Queue?
When a workflow execution fails (e.g., due to a network error), it's moved to the Dead Letter Queue instead of being lost. You can view the error, retry the execution, or dismiss it. Pro and Enterprise plans get DLQ access with automatic retry.
Can I manage multiple Shopify stores?
Yes. Pro plan supports up to 3 stores, Enterprise supports unlimited. When you have 2+ stores, the Agency Overview dashboard gives you cross-store metrics, health monitoring, and the ability to deploy a workflow to multiple stores at once.
How does the AI Assistant work?
The AI Assistant (powered by Claude) can generate a complete workflow from a plain-English description, suggest optimizations for existing workflows, and explain why an execution failed. It's available on Free (3 uses/day), Pro (50/day), and unlimited on Enterprise.
Can I cancel my subscription anytime?
Yes. Cancel from Settings → Billing at any time. Your subscription stays active until the end of the billing period. There are no cancellation fees or long-term contracts.
How do I get help?
Free users get community support (docs + GitHub discussions). Pro users get priority email support. Enterprise users get a dedicated account manager and phone support.
