Getting Started
Set up Benchwork and build your first automation in under 5 minutes.
1. Install Benchwork
Install Benchwork from the Shopify App Store or sign up directly at benchwork.app/signup. You can connect a Shopify store during onboarding or later from the Stores page.
2. Connect Your Store
After signing in, click Stores → Connect New Store and enter your Shopify store URL (e.g. my-store.myshopify.com). Benchwork will request read/write permissions needed to automate orders, inventory, customers, and more.
3. Create Your First Workflow
Go to Workflows → New Workflow. You can either:
- Use a pre-built template from the Marketplace
- Start from scratch with a blank canvas
- Use the AI Assistant — describe what you want and it builds the workflow
The Workflow Editor
The editor is a drag-and-drop canvas. Every workflow starts with a Trigger node — the event that kicks off the workflow. Drag Action, Condition, andDelay nodes from the left palette to build the automation logic.
4. Test Your Workflow
Use the Test button in the toolbar to run your workflow with sample data. Each node will light up green (success) or red (error) so you can debug before going live.
5. Activate
When you're happy, click Activate and the workflow will start responding to live events from your store. You can pause or deactivate at any time.
